Miyoko Kudo

Miyoko is a native of Japan with a background in Buddhist and Shinto practices. She trained as a registered nurse, worked with Mother Thersa in Calcutta, and volunteered at a refugee camp in Ethiopia before joining the order of Maryknoll Sisters of Saint Dominic, which was founded in 1912 by a group of U.S.-based Catholic women for overseas mission work. After 18 years of service, Miyoko left the order, moved to Santa Barbara, and earned her master’s degree at Pacifica Graduate Institute.
