The Cultivating Emotional Balance through Mindfulness (CEB) training melds mindfulness meditation and compassion training with psychological learning. The goal of the training is to allow us to deepen our spiritual and mental awareness, skillfully learning to witness and balance arising thoughts and emotions, and this learning to respond rather than react to what challenges us. Daniel Brown tells us, “Mindfulness has much to do with the continuity of non-reactive awareness.” Mediation helps us to cultivate a focused yet tranquil mind, while loving-kindness and compassion meditation allows us to explore kindness and compassion for ourselves and others. In the CEB method, compassionate and mindful awareness will be brought into daily life through a variety of on-the-go-practices. Formal and on-the-go practices together have been found to lead to increased inner happiness, more freedom and ease in life, as well as to foster a more harmonious and peaceful relationship with the world.
Our teacher, Radhule Weininger has been teaching this program for six years as well as the resident teacher of mindfulness practice at the La Casa de Maria Retreat Center in Santa Barbara, California.
