The Mount Calvary Monastery Guest House is set in the hills of Santa Barbara. Mount Calvary’s beautiful retreat center is designed to provide comfortable and suitable conditions. The accommodation is mostly in double rooms with shared baths for a maximum of 24 guests. There is a sizable meditation room, and a smaller library and a hospitality area stocked with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, and supplies for making coffee or tea and where the Monks will provide morning coffee. The Retreat House offers a large terrace overlooking Mission Canyon and landscaped grounds including a labyrinth. ROOMS: Bring your own sitting blanket, cushions, zafu or bench. Chairs are provided for those who prefer them. Linens are provided. Burning of candles or incense in individual rooms is not permitted. Before departing, please remake your bed with clean linen, which can be found in a drawer in your room. The housekeeper will put out fresh towels. Put used sheets and towels in the hampers provided, located under the stairs by the back door. Shut all windows. Guests are asked to leave their rooms by 2:00 p.m. on their departure day. MEALS: A bell rings to announce that a meal is served. We request that you be on time, as grace is said in common before dinner and supper. The brothers will ask for the assigned volunteers to help clear the dishes after meals. We cannot alter the menu to meet individual dietary needs. It is very important to let us know if you are not staying for lunch on the day of departure. Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. - Lunch at Noon, main meal of the day. - Supper 6:00 p.m. Light meal.
